وفـي المسـجد أماكـن كثيـرة وأوصـاف عجيبـة لا تتصـوّر بالمشاهدة عيانـاً.
ومـن أعظم محاسـنه: أنّـه إذا جلـس إنسان فيـه فـي أيّ موضـع منـه يـرى أنّ ذلك الموضـع هـو أحسـن المواضـع وأشرفهـا، ولذلك قيـل:
إنّ الله نظـر إليـه بعيـن الجمـال ونظـر إلـى المسـجد الحـرام بعين الجـلال.
وانشد:
أهيـم بقاع القـدس ما هبت الصبـا فتلك ربـاع الأنس في زمـن الصبـا
ومـا زلت فـي شوقي إليهـا موصلاً سـلامي علـى تلك المعاهـد والربى
